Run Time

45 minutes run. 15 minutes stretching the legs and lower back.

My best season ever had me still running a handful of times a week at the lunch time run club.  So now I am going out for these super slow, no sweat runs 2-3 times a week, just to keep the legs moving and building up that o2 concentration.  Gonna try to keep this up year round, ala Dan Cassidy.  He's the man who runs 3-4 times a week and kills it on the bike.  There might be something to crosstraining in season.

No riding per se.

Couldn't head out before work today.  But with school in the evening I do have a built in 50 minutes of ride time with my big ass bag.

20 minutes of stretching in the morning to loosen up the hamstrings and start to loosen up the shoulder.

Like an old pair of jeans

Suppose this is a coincidence or it might have some meaning, but it is 12/1 and I went for a mountain bike ride. First one I went out for in a long time. So long I had to take the number plate off the front of my bike from the Adventure race I did back in September. But man, I wanted to get out. Finished up this project for school, suited up and headed out. Abit rusty on the riding but I got to roll along. Overgeared for my weak legs, so it was a constant battle to keep the wheels rolling smooth. It was needed.

The coincidence is that I made the mental note way back when I started my off season that December 1 would be my step back into training. Training again, concerted effort to eat healthy again(vegetarian, vegan?) and goals for next season that are attainable. Hoping to stick with this writing daily to keep my mind focused and centered. The motivation is there for the next few months of winter, but the new puppy will keep me hiking and xc skiing; along with no seasons pass for lift access skiing.

Re-upped with my sponsor, Bikeman.com again so I got some people to hold myself accountable too. But mostly they just like it when I let then know when I am having fun.

Here's to 09, and a breakthrough season, as I am not getting any younger.
